AC Shadows Reveals Bizarre Attack on Titan Crossover for Holiday Season
In a bizarre partnership that breaks conventional forecasts, the game developer has unveiled an in-game partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising holiday event continues from November 25 through December 22, offering no-cost bonus story content for Shadows players.
Strange Questline Revealed
According to the official announcement, "A mysterious encounter draws heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh mission, where hints of prohibited practices and fearsome changes resonate through the darkness." The storyline features a "unusually garbed woman named Ada" who assigns the duo with traveling into the Gemstone Grotto—a important location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her companion from a secret cult.
The questline focuses on "strange trials and a fearsome enemy" and is open to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Iconic Locations and Transformations
The trailer features the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was earlier where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through eras. The trailer concludes with a dramatic moment showing a character, presumably the hostage, changing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Rewards and Extra Features
Players who finish the quest will receive an exclusive katana in addition to numerous items secreted throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also contains purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:

This patch also adds the game's latest no-cost story content, titled "The Enigma." This represents hardly the first time the Assassin's Creed franchise has crossed over with well-known anime properties. The series earlier featured a 2020 collaborative story uniting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga. Moreover, Valhalla subtly contained a quest that obviously echoed the well-known series One-Punch Man.
