It's difficult for Australia to set fresh records.

The greatest achievements have already been conquered.

This is the team that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, along with another six T20 titles, and once went over three years without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, those for the achievement hunters, are all that remain for a side that has accomplished all there is.

It needed until Sunday's success by three wickets over India for them to complete their first ODI chase exceeding 300, reclaiming their record for the largest in the women's 50-over format, is, honestly, a tribute to the bowlers that have worn canary yellow over the last half-century.

It's challenging for their batsmen to hold a record if never given the opportunity.

In the end, the consequence of Australia conceding 330 was captain Alyssa Healy getting a chance to produce her most recent brilliance.

Originally famous as the young family member of renowned former Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she debuted in 2010 after her country didn't secure either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups conducted earlier and has experienced everything through 15 trophy-laden years since.

A T20 World Cup win happened three months after her debut and seven global championships have followed from 10 efforts across formats.

The determined wicketkeeper was present as well in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final setback by India momentarily interrupted the winning streak.

That loss "motivated us to reevaluate our levels," Healy commented earlier.

At the subsequent ODI World Cup in New Zealand, Healy scored 170 against England in the championship match and was declared player of the series. She guaranteed her country would not fail again.

Whether this latest epic knock surpassed that earlier display remains open for discussion.

Some will argue the argument supporting championship match pressure. Different voices suggest with the test that comes when confronting a historic chase and a raucous India-supporting crowd of 20,000.

What's definite is this hundred was much more difficult to see coming.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 occurred when she was the highest scorer, but this innings came after six matches in India from the beginning of the previous month in which she had failed to pass 30.

"If you've been watching me in training, it's been a disappointing period because I feel like my form was missing whatsoever," stated Healy.

"But once you step out on the field, your fighting spirit kick in and you simply focus on the competition."

Healy's fighting spirit has consistently been her major advantage - and an invaluable trait in taking over from famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was tormented by India's promising player Kranti Gaud in the previous month's ODI series, dismissed by the emerging pace bowler in each encounter, but on this occasion it simply offered Healy's spark.

A single came off the bowler's initial ball and from that point the right-hander was on her way.

"A chance to play and lock in a contest with her and simply enjoy myself in that aspect, somewhat inspired me," stated Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 pitches - her fastest at the World Cup - and her century in 84 deliveries while she attacked short-pitched balls, striking 21 boundaries and three big hits.

By the time she was dismissed Australia needed 66 more at run per delivery - an achievable target now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"Pursuing 330 is new territory so I'm pleased we have the confidence to do that now," continued Healy.

"Ideally we won't need to do it another time but, if necessary, we believe we can achieve it."

That comment will be the final thing rival teams at this championship should hear.

Over the past five days a sense they will win from any position has become more firm - this success succeeding win against Pakistan by 107-run victory despite being 76-7 at one point.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before an encounter with longtime competitors England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a last-four spot may likely be confirmed.

It was at that stage they were eliminated from the previous year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - a game Healy couldn't play because of ruptured tissue in her foot as she guided Australia for the inaugural occasion at a significant event.

So strong is her resolve, she afterwards commented she regretted not playing with the discomfort.

Yet even as she afterwards confessed those injuries have pushed back plans to retire, this World Cup is likely to be her final tournament as skipper in one-day cricket and she is yet to win an international tournament as leader.

Triumph in India would lead her to the peak of her last major obstacle.
