Manchester United Manager Amorim Admits He Cannot Escape Disappointing Record

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim confesses he is unable to ignore from his poor statistics and states it is expected that Old Trafford legends are questioning him.
On Tuesday, United's record goalscorer Wayne Rooney mentioned during his podcast that "the spirit has disappeared" from his old club.
Amorim has achieved just eighteen wins from his forty-nine games in control, featuring nine out of 33 in the English top flight, where he has still to achieve back-to-back successive victories.
While senior Old Trafford insiders are insistent that the INEOS chief continues to be behind the manager, failure to beat newly promoted Sunderland on the weekend will spark fresh speculation about his role heading into the upcoming two-week pause in domestic football.
"This is normal," commented the Portuguese coach, when questioned about the former striker's comments. "One can't escape from the results."
"Furthermore you have the history from last season, [although] that period for me doesn't matter."
Supporter Reaction and Present Circumstances
Manchester United's supporters stayed behind Amorim following the previous campaign's dismal performance, when they ended up fifteenth in the table - their lowest performance since the 1973/74 demotion campaign - and were beaten in the Europa League final, in the expectation that the current campaign would be substantially improved.
Amorim promised supporters the circumstances would get better because he had additional time to prepare with his team without the midweek commitment of European competition.
That is not been how the first six matches have materialised as Manchester United have endured 3 defeats so far and are currently fourteenth in the standings.
Coach's Response to Questions
When asked what promises he could provide fans that the circumstances will improve, Amorim added: "This is not moment to speak, it is the moment to show."
"Personally look at the matches this season and, for me, they are totally varied, but I have nothing to add at this moment."
